Welcome

Hello and welcome to my new blog on my latest OOTP leagues. I usually do historical leagues usually of teams from different eras like I use to do in Stratomatic. Let me discuss the format I use for these leagues.

It's a 24 team league that plays 16 games. 16 because I play each game out myself.  That's 384 games played over usually the course of 6 months.  I pick teams that go back as far as 1893. 1893 was where the modern pitcher's mound came into use. Baseball was different in the 1870's and 1880's so there's no point in simming teams that didn't play in the "modern"' way.
I pick 2 teams from 1900 through 2000's. One from 1890's and one from 2010's. I usually try to pick teams that had success as in World Series, league winners, etc..I schedule the games each round.
Here's the format I use:

Then in the end of the season, I don't use wild cards etc. Only teams that qualify are out right winners of the division or if they are half a game back, there's a 1 game playoff.  But last league, it went like 10 games, so I need to refine that. lol Then NL East vs NL West and AL East vs AL West for the World Series. Winner of the World Series moves onto the next league.

This was a quick rundown of the leagues. If any questions, let me know because I am sure I missed something. Thanks and enjoy following the Baseball League Classic.
